I finally played it with the "free" premium games on PSVR2. Rowing is not easy but after a few minutes on the pool and finally in Norway, when you actually get the hang of it its awesome, and as with most VR games that have motion, its a lot of calories I tell you that!

Just imagine when us slightly older generation of people, used to play games like Street Fighter, or Mortal Kombat, in the amusement arcades as kids, and how impressive the graphics seemed to be at the time. We couldnt even imagine what the future would bring. And this game is on an household console or PC. It is crazy how advanced technology has come on, in such a short number of years, and even Street Fighter was released only a few short years after games like Space Invaders, or Pacman. Not so much with arcade games, but technology in general, scares the shit out of me.😂 It comes around, gets improved, and becomes normal, everyday technology, that gets taken for granted. It is not even noticed how fast and how much technology can change our daily lives by most people. Especially the younger generation. Many not realising, that there was a time not so long ago, that mobile phones, were something that only rich businessmen and Del Trotter had. And a rare commodity. As a kid, if you wanted to get hold of a freind for a game of football or something, you had to physically go and knock on your friends front door, or ask permission to use the expensive call rates of the house-phone in your parents house.😂

OK, so we understand you're a big fan of VR but I've tried them all they're uncomfortable they're sweaty they're inconvenient. You can only wear them for a limited amount of time. They suck for people with glasses no matter what brand make or solution they've come up with most people get sick after a small amount of time with some racing of any type bike or car when I say I've tried them all. I've literally tried them all. I finally went with 150 inch 3-D 4K 1 billion color projector that I sit 6 feet from the screen. I literally have a larger field of you than you do with that on your head and everyone in the room can enjoy it. We can watch movies on it and we can Sim race on it like we do every day no sweat around my face no uncomfortable device clamped to my face no dangling wires just a giant screen. That looks way better than any headset I've ever put on, they can take those Fresnel lenses and keep them. I don't like it and no matter what they say. I'm still seeing a screen door effect it's small but it bothers me. Also the main reason I have a multiuse device I can watch 3-D movies with the whole family or I can race feeling like I'm there with 150 inch screen that sits right in front of my RSeat N1 racing chassis. Until they make many improvements in the devices, including size weight, comfort the amount of time you can wear it I'll be sticking with my gigantic screen

VR mode should be mandatory on big AAA titles like this

The reflections are too glass like in the water. There would be ripples causing caustics. But damn it’s close for sure!!

If the devs don't make a native VR version of this, they're just missing a trick. It's a game (or at least concept) that lends perfectly to VR. Instead of creating a character to run around after in third-person, we could be ourselves in the world, flinging magic and flying about... it's just a no-brainer. However, if they are too stubborn not to, then it's so good to know that this is a viable option. I am so hoping that the PSVR2 PC Adaptor will work with this mod. I only have that one headset atm (and can't afford anymore right now). I am very excited to try a few of these sort of things out.

Hey benjo, could you make a video talking about the camera stabilizing methods/ apps you mention I’m trying to record vr as well but there’s really not much guides online that offer any real solutions besides liv camera smoothing (which doesn’t work with open xr games) which is a lot of games. I know it’s out of your realm of content but I and I’m sure many others who are trying to spread the hype on VR as whole by recording gameplay would appreciate it.

Great review. I like the setup with the screen with your view, and also the video of your own motions. Very effective to help me as someone coming into this completely cold, ie. no games PC, no Quest. I'm sold! Gotta get a top-end games laptop, a Quest, and the Warplanes VR. So glad you mentioned the WWI edition - I'll start there. It'll be a dream come true, after many attempts since 1985 (Microst Flight Sim 2), which always ended in frustration.
